Purging hydraulic fluids - a question
Cross post from the SL55 site:
I'm getting ready to purge the ABC and Power Steering fluids on my '03 SL55. Car is 10 years old with 48K miles, and the ABC fluid looks pretty black. These purges seem pretty straightforward, and the fluids are available from MB (Q1320001), Pentosin (CHF 11S), or Febi (02615). Febi is about half the price of Pentosin, and has same specs from everything I've been able to find.
My question is: Has anyone purged the fluid in the hydraulic system for the Vario top? Does it need to be done on any scheduled basis? IF you have purged/replaced it, what is the procedure you used? Also, WHERE is the reservoir????
