So, my beloved 29K mile 2004 SL55 got smacked by an "innattentive" driver in a Tahoe. Everyone was OK, but still...yikes. We may ***** about the weight of our "sports leicht" vehicles, but I was glad to have all that curb weight when she smoked the redlight. Caught me driver's side front quarter. So far about 10K in damage.

It isn't as though these cars are getting more valuable at the moment, but I'm guessing with my mileage and options somewhere between 28K and 32K was a fair retail price. Has anyone had to establish diminished value before? In my state it is pursued "third party", meaning I have to go after the other insurance company personally. They have accepted full liability, as there were several witnesses how reported she blew the red.

Thoughts? Any help would be appreciated.
