The SRS light came on and stayed on after my car sat for a few days during the cold weather.First of all why and second how do get it to turn off? Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.(just another symptom with the SRS sos light and over head and map lights not coming on)

You cannot turn it off you self unless you have a Star diag system. You will have to take the car to a shop so they can diagnose it.

It is one of those persistent errors where disconnecting the battery is not enough. When the code is reset, it will also tell you why the error code was set in the first place.

Mine came on last year and the culprit was a metal piece that got pushed under the passenger seat severing a wire. I cleaned up the wire and applied some electrical tape on it. My mechanic ran the star diagnostics and cleared out the code. It has been fine since.

Hope this helps.
