SL/R230: SL 350

Hi Everyone!
I have the opportunity to have an R230, '03 SL350. Is it a good choice, or a '03 SL500 is better with 7-G Tronic?
Do someone have experiences about the consumption of these two?
Are they usable for everyday?

Take my advice and avoid it. You will have plenty of problems with it. From oil leaks and in particular electronic problems predominate. The biggest mistake of our lives was buying one. The transmission, which is a 722.6 is causing a lot of problems and believe me I speak with experience on the topic. The worst thing about all these problems is that with all their technical supports these problems have continued since 1996 with one in every 3 SLs having serious transmission difficulties. Be wise and save yourself grief and buy elsewhere!
