SL/R230: We need to stand together

Back in December I purchased a new navigation DVD for my '07 SL and I was surprised to find that the latest version was v.10 which is a couple of years old. One of the things that also surprised me is that the functionality that I have in my '06 E class was not present in the SL. In the E i can mute the voice for the navigation, I can in the bottom of the screen ETA, miles to go.
In the SL i cannot mute the voice except for the current announcement and I see GPS satellites.
So, confused that I car that new cost less the half of the SL had that functionality, I wrote MB USA asking for the updates to be made available.
The response I got back was:
Dear Mr. Pedersen,
Thank you for your email to Mercedes-Benz USA.
We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with feedback regarding the COMAND updated on your 2007 SL65.
Mr. Pedersen, your patronage of our brand means a great deal to Mercedes-Benz USA and we recognize your feelings. While we cannot promise this will change in the future, it is comments such as yours that help us to provide feedback to the appropriate individuals within our organization, so they can continuously consider improving upon the features available for our products on an ongoing basis.
Best wishes for future safe and pleasant driving.
Sincerely,
Eileen F.

Thanks,
One can only hope that the Mercedes-Benz car group has finally figured out that the NAVTEQ navigation system is not the right solution for a cars from a company that has "das Beste oder Nichts" as it's motto.
Those of us who own older cars with the NAVTEQ system are basically SOL.
