SL/R230: Replaced COMAND $$$

Replaced COMAND $$$
Last month I had to replace the COMAND unit in my '06 SL500. For the past year, the radio and nav would not come on line for anywhere from 5 -30 minutes after engine start (from being parked overnight), and the delay was getting progressively worse.
Be assured I looked into every possible cause for this problem, and tried numerous "solutions" with my fingers crossed, knowing that replacing the COMAND would be expensive. Nothing solved the problem.
Fortunately, my Chrysler ext warranty covered the $7000 bill, minus a $200 deductible.
Unfortunately, as of a couple of years ago, the Chrysler ext warranty is no long offered for SL's.

My 2011 S63's COMAND stopped working completely; I could hear the disk trying to spin up. MB USA replaced it under warranty and said it's a good thing it was still covered as it would have cost me $8K otherwise.
