SL/R230: 2007 SL550 malfunction messages
Hello,
I own a 2007 Mercedes-Benz SL550 (garaged in L.A.) with a little over 13,000 miles, this is my 2nd /pleasure car and I split my time living In Los Angeles & Philadelphia so it only get driven very rarely.
Throughout the years after letting it sit for a few weeks, the convenience battery would run low, but after driving it for a while everything would be back online.
Prior to one of my trip away, I disconnected both batteries because I knew I would be gone for a few months. When I returned and reconnected them, it started with no problem but a red battery warning had appeared in the malfunction window.
About month later, I had the ABS warning come on and the brakes stop working.
I replace the convenience battery, the ABS warning went away and brakes work fine, but now I have a "Brake Service Take to Workshop" warning along with the battery warning now.
The car seems to be running fine and everything functions ok, I'm wondering about the warning?
Is there a way to reset these malfunction warnings or am I dealing with something more serious?
Thanks in advance,
Robert P.
