SL55 OIL LEVEL PROBLEM!

Hello Guys,

I have a faulty oil level indication on the cluster. It always give me either add 1.5L or 2.0L. I did it once right after the oil change and it gave me add 2.0L.

I replaced the Oil level Sender. But sadly, the problem is still the same.

Do you guys have any idea what the problem maybe?

Regards

It may have a incorrect coding for which engine the level sensor is in. will require mb diag equipment to check for coding and fault codes.

If someone is online with the engine management controller I suggest you have them check that your system is setup for whatever fuel you are putting in your car, JadAwada. Here in the U.S. cars are delivered from the factory setup for 91-octane, yet many people are using 93-octane.

Also, whatever money you were thinking of spending on that wing for your trunk...Why not buy purchase your own SDS system instead so you can do the above and much more yourself? A Chinese clone can be had for around $300.

ROD, I'm not talking about fuel but I actually fill my car with 98 Unleaded Fuel.

What I was talking about is the OIL, I'm putting 5w40 grade.

I wonder what is the SDS?

And I have mentioned, I'm not putting a trunk spoiler after what you guys just said :P

So, per my prior post, if someone is going to go online with the engine management controller and check the coding which relates to engine oil level, then they ought to take a few seconds to check that your engine is configured to run on this 98 unleaded fuel.

SDS is an acronym for "Star Diagnosis System". It's PC-based software and a hardware interface that communicates with the electronic control modules in your car. It has many functions which include reading and clearing fault codes, troubleshooting problems, and changing "codings" which set operating parameters and features of the car.
