Strutmasters issue???
Does anyone know what the issue was that stopped strutmasters from selling sl500 kits? When I called they said they no longer sell that kit because they were having an issue.

That's the same thing I was told when I called. I'm surprised, because they still sell sets for the CL model and I think that also has hydraulic suspension.

I tried to get some details but they were tight lipped about it. Interesting though. Maybe someone who has them will know.

A good guess would be the bypass module is causing system malfunction or damage. Without the bypass you get the ABC failure light. Not much point of selling a set of shocks if they still show an ABC failure message

Remanufactured ABC struts from Arnott Industries come with a limited lifetime warranty and claim to have a seal which is superior to the OEM units. Since these sell for as little as $398-$628 plus shipping, I personally don't see how a Strutmasters conversion makes any sense.

That's true but, I've been reading about valve blocks, accumulators, sensors, pumps and hoses bleeding. And the conversion was selling around 1500.00 complete. Food for thought

That may be one of the issues. What I mean by that is they make kits for a few different manufactures. I don't think they have a Mercedes background in particular because my mechanic told me today the ABC warnings can be disabled with STAR you don't need a module. Interesting

I'm curious about the coil overs used in the SL65 Black Series, and if they can be applied to the other R230s, my guess is that Mercedes would charge a fortune for the parts.
