Lojack is one of those options that you wish you never have to use. I got my dealer to install it free of charge... Would have cost 600-700.

It's up to the individual. Look at it this way. Your purchasing a very expensive luxury roadster (say around 90g's). Lojack is about 600-700 install. Some insurance, if not most, give a small discount on your comprehensive(?) if you have lojack installed? Teleaid will do the same job as the lojack in your car, but if that antenna is ripped off from the car, then it's no good anymore, there's no more GPS signal feeding into the car, therefore teleaid cannot see where you car is.

Lojack is hidden somewhere in the car, which only lojack knows...not even the owner of the car. Your paying a very large sum of money and for 600-700 only, it's a piece of mind that if anything, godforbid, ever happened to your SL, then you know it's protected and will have a 99.9% chance of being recovered fairly soon.

I think it's worth the very small $600-$700 price tag, against what your paying for the piece of mind that your car is protected.

My .02

I have lojack on my Range Rover. It cost $600 installed. The down side to lojack is you have to know your car is stolen, call the police first, then lojack then they track your car. By that time it could be so beat up you not want it back. I was car jacked in another car and when I got my car back, it never was the same. BTW, Lojack now has a pager system that would be helpful. I guess if you owe alot on the car and your insurance would only give you a cetain amount for it, it would be worth getting your car back. My insurance company would not give me a discount. I doubt I will put one in my 04SL. Just my $.02..
