Then it seems likely to me that either your Pneumatic Systems Equipment (PSE) controller is bad, or there is a bad electrical connection at the controller.
I wouldn't replace the PSE controller without first checking it out with a $300 Chinese-cloned or other Star Diagnosis computer.

Hi, my Mercedes SL600 is experiencing a similar issue but intermittent. The door locks will not lock but marker lamps will illuminate with a door lock/unlock command via RKE, convertible top will not retract due to "please close trunk partition" message, I have verified trunk partition is closed properly. I located fuse #71 behind passenger seat and verified fuse to be good. I reinstalled fuse #71 and magically both door locks and convertible top started functioning. That evening the door locks and top would no longer operate. Door locks and roof will not work which is why my issue is intermittent. Issue seems like a bad ground.
Note: I have replaced truck battery beginning of summer 2015 with a Optima red top battery. Issue has started a few weeks ago, battery was replaced 4 months ago.
Please help!
