Question regarding "S" mode....

If I begin driving in S mode right after start up, it up shifts later at a higher RPM as it is supposed to do and it goes through the gears all the way through 7th. My question is that while driving in S mode and then accelerate enough to have it downshift, it tends to stay in the lower gears and won't up-shift even while at a steady speed and 2,500 RPMs. An example is while at 65 mph in 7th, push on the gas and it downshifts to 6th, 5th or 4th depending on how far the gas pedal is pressed, then while easing off the gas, one would think it would then go back through to 7th but it doesn't. It may go up 1 or 2 gears but won't drop below a range of about 2500 RPMs. If I begin driving in "S" mode right after start up, it does go through all the gears. It's like when you punch it to kick it down a gear, it seems to remember that you're driving more aggressively and it keeps the RPM's higher, by keeping it in a lower gear range. Does anyone else experience this?

My CL55 used to do something similar. I think it's programmed to do this, assuming you might want to accelerate again soon.
