I can open and close the hard top from the passenger door but does not work on the driver's door, Any clue?

I would suspect a faulty infrared receiver in the handle; a less likely possibility may be a faulty door control module.

For control of the top with the key remote, this is a good way to go, in my opinion.

Press and hold the unlock while holding the front of the key fob close to the dark plastic port on the door handle, the top will lower. IR comm with fob and port must not be interrupted.
