Backup Camera
Hey Guys,
I'm getting ready to order one of the Chinese head units to replace my MB one. I've considered all the pros and cons and I'm happy with my choice.
One of the options is to add a backup camera since the receiving unit is already built in. I've seen aftermarket ones on other cars which actually are part light and part camera but are mounted where the license plate light lens used to be. My question is, has anyone on here done this before? I'm having a hard time finding one that will fit and I don't want to drill holes.

2007 SL550
I put an aftermarket backup (and forward facing) camera on my SL550. Kenwood CMOS-310. I devices a custom mount near the trunk release switch. I then ran the cables through the trunk lid, down the trunk hinges (making allowance for the double-hinged opening here), under the trunk mat, through the firewall (biggest pain!), into the rear AGW area, under the center console, and up to the head unit. Phew. Took my about 4 hours of work, not easy. Now, it works great! I'm away from the car for a few days. Let me know if you'd like a picture of the camera mounts if that's what you're looking for.

Diablo, I'm going to put the wireless send and receive unit on it so I don't have to run the wires all the way through. I'm looking for something like one of these that fits in the rear license plate lens. Part light, part camera. Problem is, I've been struggling with actual dimensions. I've measured the existing but it's had to tell to the mm what the exact size is...
