Question Order an 04 or 05 SL

Should I order an 04 or wait and order an 05 incase there is a slight facelift? My MB dealer says there will be changes to the tail lights and DVD Nav on the 05 and a facelift on the 08 model that would be delivered at the end of 07.Any suggestions? Any idea when the price and options on the 05 will be released?

There won't be a facelift on 05, it's stupid. The SL is a classic time piece, they don't change styles unless it's at least 7 years on a car like this.

I bet Mercedes does a minor mid product life facelift in 05. Wait and see.

Same minor things that Mercedes did with the CL and S class in 03. Not much to worry about.

Usually these mid product life changes also include minor interior items. I bet we see DVD Nav at that point as well.

That is entirely possible, I think I might've came out as an arrogant idiot in my previous post, I apologize, sorry about that.

As for the minor mid year thing, probably. Did the R129 have anything like that?

I think the R129 was introduced in 1990 and ran to the 2002 model year. In either the 1996 or 1997 model year there was a minor facelift where they changed the shape of the little decorative vents on the side of the car ahead of the doors, adopted a grill with one less slat and changed the styling of the interior of the doors.

Hi, I think you must buy the SL and enjoy it, I was thinking as you, my final conclusion: buy now and enjoy my new car, next month, I will have my new SL 500 full loaded of extras, I don´t mind future updates because normally in this kind of cars, Mercedes offers minor changes (as S or CL) you must be an expert to value it. At this moment, DVD navigation system it is not working as expect, they have a lot of problems. The Comand CD based ,actually, works perfect. That was Mercedes Benz techs told me
