Star C3 diagnostic
Is there anyone in the Phoenix area that has a Star C3? Mine worked once and now I can't get it to connect. I suspect it is the cable to the multiplexer but it could be software. I'd like to meet someone in the area to either compare software settings or switch cables to get to the bottom of what is going on.

When I first received it from China, I hooked it up using the external hard drive and a USB to serial port adapter (my laptop doesn't have a serial port) It hooked up and worked the first time and I was able to reset some codes and run the Rodeo procedure. A few weeks later I was unable to connect again. It shows "no dongle" and says it won't connect to the car. The multiplexer light is on and the car ignition is on. I have checked all of the port settings and don't see any issues there. I suspect it is either a software issue or the cable from the computer to the multiplexer.

Yup--everything is set to Com2 and the speeds are set to what is shown on many of the YouTube videos. It just isn't connecting to the multiplexer. This is the problem with buying from Alibaba--you just can't get any recourse. I have sent them pictures and videos and they wear me down with further requests. I bought with paypal so I may contest the purchase through them. I have also tried it with a laptop with a serial port so I don't need the usb adapter--no difference.
