SL/R230: LITHIUM BATTERY

It operates fully independent, and does not loose juice as the rear battery does after a short while if not disconnected or on a tender.
So it would be a waste of time to have only one battery, maybe only if you were to remove the rear battery because you absolutely need the space.
But it would be so much hassle that it ain't worth it.
The car is designed specifically for having two batteries, so I would only recommend to exchange the rear only with a lithium-ion battery for saving some space.
But just remember to either disconnect the trunk battery if the car will be sitting for more than a week, or buy a C-TEK and use it all the time.

Good luck with your car, I had to move the battery in the trunk to fit a sub box. It has 150 liter's so it wasn't hard to put it inside the box.
It will only be a little more hassle when it's going to be replaced...
