Door chime -- how to disable?
I have a 2004 SL 600. Is there any way to silence the door chime that sounds when you open the door? It won't go off until you either insert the key or push the keyless go button. The Tele Aid people are able to silence the "Teleaid has not yet been activated" chime after you register with them so I am sure that there must be a program that will do the same for the open door warning, and the "you left your key in the car warning" Any thoughts? Thanks

Do you call and pay for the subscription or do you call them and they send a signal to disable?
I read elsewhere that it could be done through StarDiag. I've tried but can't seem to get it to deactivate.
TIA

I remember seeing an option to turn off the seat belt reminder on StarDiag and have turned off on both MB's we own. I will check again to see if there is an option for the door chime.

Old thread, but the problem has got no less annoying. Did anyone discover how to disable the warning chimes? I have a 2006 SL55 and a Xentry DAS system.

Its been a while since I deactivated the "key still in car" reminder. I can't remember the exact steps, but in this useful thread:

The IC will not turn red if you are a stop, while in gear, and press the KG button like it does now (telling you to put the car in Park). If your car is a wagon, the hatch will not open. thats the only ill effects. I know it seams pety but got to be very annoying.
Good Luck!

Just like JaySee56 it's been a while since I have done this. I remember that in CGW I changed country setting from US to RDW (Rest of the World), then I disabled the belt warning (but I forgot where). I think that the RDW change took care of the key warning. As an extra from the RDW I got the Brake Hold feature at stops. On your '04's you should get back also the Brake Assist in traffic.

I know it's an old thread, but in case anyone is still looking for a solution. I just turned mine off using an iCarsoft MB v3.0 reader and changing the "Keyless Go" option from Available to Unavailable. This was in the Services menu. Everything still works, but now no annoying door chime. Hope this helps!
