beautiful seats! love the recaro sportsters! potentially looking to replace my oem seats as well (as opposed to reskining them) is there any solution to eliminate the srs light? also id imagine custom brackets are being made and the seats will be manual?

Yes custom brackets and manual.

I will let you know about the solution for the warning light but I am sure we will find one.

Not sure what billets you're using, but those figures seem very conservative to me, based on what we've seen here. Good luck!

I do not want to get my own hopes up let alone others so my numbers are conservative.

The other thing is, as I am planning to circuit track the car, the power has to be there all the time or at least for a hard 30min session. This means that the tune is likely to be a little more conservative than one that needs to last for 10seconds.

This is my second set of billets, the first gave power high up in the rev range but had a lot of lag down low, so I had some new ones made to be more effective for circuit use with much less lag however this will probably also mean less peak power but a much better power delivery when I want it.

The new turbos started coming in at 1,500 RPM, The first set were 2,200-2,300 RPM

Because it's as heavy as many SUV's.

Yup. That would make sense...
But its a shame though...corvettes weigh almost the same and people track those. Dodge viper also...

The turbos went back in today. A noise is still present so we will start the engine tomorrow without the belt to narrow down the search, it seems it was not the turbo. I hope to have some better news tomorrow.

I tried to take a picture of the lower intake pipes but I couldn't really get to them even with the car on a lift.

The general original setup is not conducive to track use due to multiple reasons.

Weight
Built in understeer
Heat soak
Suspension
Brakes

Most of these things can be improved by modding however it doesn't come cheap. I hope to give some good feedback by the end of the month as I will hit the home of the British GP at Silverstone on the 28th September.

You may want to check weights. Corvettes and Vipers are significantly lighter than the 230.SL's.

Yes they do weigh quite a bit less. I think they come in around 3500lb.

More problems today, I still have a mystery squeak which still seems to be coming from the turbo, so they are coming out again for the forth time.

We have tested in every different configuration. Even took the belt off and ran without to eliminate all of the pulleys, ac, power steering.

We are putting a scope inside the turbo and recording the sound to send to the turbo shop, but I am sure it will have to come back out.

Not really, the turbos are coming out again and going back to the shop. Just hoping it will be done before VMAX200 on the 26th.

I tried to get some photos last week of the cai but couldn't get anything, I may be able to get a shot of the radiator from the top. We are trying just the two intakes from the drl location when we get it back on the dyno.

I will find out the wheel specs for you however each widebody will require different offsets. My wheels are due on Wednesday.

Still not sure if we have fixed the problem however we did find one of the bolts on the turbo housing was stripped and was allowing some small movement so we are hoping this was the problem.

We have found the problem. It turned out to be the bolts on the turbo housing that had stretched so the actual housing was vibrating and had some movement. New bolts installed both sides to be on the safe side and we are back in business.

Hopefully it will be back to the tuning stage Wednesday or Thursday. Wheels should arrive tomorrow. So fingers crossed I should make VMAX on Saturday and Silverstone on the 28th.
