2005 SL350 (R230) Body & Suspension Parts

Hi, my 2005 SL350 (R230) has just been assessed as Cat C BER following an accident where an idiot careless driver pulled out in front of me just North of Bath (A46, UK).

I intend to repair my vehicle and need a replacement front wing, bumper, headlight plus suspension parts ... but can anybody recommend a parts supplier to provide the required parts? I'm fairly new to Merc ownership and have not yet identified any local (I'm in Wiltshire) parts suppliers - or even online suppliers that stock what I'm looking for. Any suggestions?

In addition, as I need a wing, front bumper and headlight, is it worth spending a little more to upgrade the front-end to the later body style? Are such kits direct front-end bolt-on replacements? Again, any suggestions welcomed.

Thanks

Wolfie Souter

A number of members including me purchase Merc parts from oediscountparts.com I am not sure if they will ship to the UK or not.

When you say suspension parts, are you referring to any part of the ABC system, like for instance struts? If so, check into Arnott Industries. They make a re-manufactured strut that is much less expensive.

Just curious. I am not familiar with CAT C BER. Is that similar to what us yanks would call a total loss or totaled?

Hi,
Thanks, but hoping to find a Merc Parts supplier in the UK.
Regarding suspension, I need to replace parts such as lower ball joint, wishbones and track control arms.
The term Cat C BER is that my SL350 has been assessed as Beyond Economical Repair (written off) but repairable as Cat C. Vehicle has been assessed as having a retail value of £12,900 where the repair estimate is £12,850 ... damage does not look that bad, however, expensive to repair.
