SmartTop (testing)
I recently bought an SL55 and in less than a week I installed the SmartTop. I think it is a must. You can customize several things such as one touch operation, or windows go down when the top goes down, or windows stay up when the top goes down. With the current flash there are about 10 functions you can customize. The only thing I quickly realized you cannot change is the roll bar (from stock operation) so I inquired about it with Mods4cars.
They stated not sure it can be done as it may be hard wired but they put it on their to do list...next time they have an SL R230 they can test on.
So....
Anyone in Las Vegas (I think they have an LA and Phoenix location as well) with an SL that would be willing to let Mods4cars test for a possible roll bar flash upgrade to their SmartTop?

love SmartTop and couldn't imagine going back to not having it
wish there was a way to close the trunk remotely. suggested this to them but didn't hear back. have no idea if it's even possible

it does many things but here's what I like:
-don't have hold the center console button to open/close roof. just a tap will do
-when roof is closed but windows are down you can tap down the button and it will close all windows including the rear ones
-can operate the top while not at a complete standstill (though I drive slowly and make sure I won't be hitting any bumps while doing this)
-with the key fob you can trigger the top to open or close as well as opening or closing the windows. the factory method of pointing the fob towards the door handle is a pain and you have to hold the button down the whole time
-I had a minor issue with installation and they were really quick to help and the root cause of the problem was mine (tapped wrong wire for power)
I highly recommend this for any car that they support. No I don't work for them.
