What is the accumulator test can the test be performed without removing the accumulators is the front accumulator solely responsible for the drive carefully light to appear

There are no tests, that I am aware of, that can be done without removing the accumulator.
Most will remove the accumulator and see if you can poke the eraser end of a pencil into it. If it goes in more than an inch, or you don't see the white plastic part in the entry, it is likely bad.
There are a number of issues that will give the 'drive carefully' message, not just the accumulators.
A bad pulse dampener coming off of the pump (found in the rear portion of LF wheel well) will sometimes show up as a humming noise. Most other accumulators will only show issues as 'drive carefully', or none at all.
