Keyless stopped working after replacing fob batteries

Yesterday I replaced the batteries on both my FOBs, and after that keyless was not unlocking doors on touch and the start button was not working. Pressing lock/unlock in the FOB worked.

I found this on Yahoo answers:

turn ignition on (position 2 but engine not running) than remove key quickly hold lock button and at the same time press the unlock button 5 times while holding lock button, release both buttons than press lock button this should reactivate remote after battery replacement

I as surprise that this actually worked, and decided to share here.
