New York Auto Show
The show starts March 29th. Check out the web site for a new write up about the SL 55 in the "new car gallery" section. Hopefully the SL 55 will be displayed. Show attendees, please let the rest of us know what you see!!!

No SL 55 at the NY auto show
Bad news guys:
Sorry to rain on your parade, but I spoke w/ a rep form MB North America that has told me the SL 55 will not be on display at the NY auto show.
However, she did assure me that the SL 55 will be arriving at our shores in late summer/early fall, most likely around September.

sl55 ny autoshow
I went to NY Auto preview last night and the sl 55 is there. Up on a podium had to climb up to see the interior, it was open for the press but when the show opens today you can only see it from afar. Frankly disappointing not visually much different from the sl on the floor. Somewhat generic looking mercedes wheels and the only hint was the v8 kompressor on the quarter panel. Silver in color the floor sl with its top down was pretty lacks the panache i was hoping for.

I did purchase a LE and put about 200 miles on it before we got 28.5 inches of snow. Then my dealer called and said he had another buyer for an LE and wondered if I would consider switching cars. The more I looked at the Designo Silver, the less I liked it. I gave back my LE and I am waiting for my black/charcoal SL 500 with every available option that is due here before the end of April. The panorama roof, sport package, keyless go, plus the color are the main reasons I switched. I doubt I’ll use the Distronic much here, since we don’t have freeways, but it may be good for resale. I’m still first on my dealer’s list for an SL 55, but he is not at all confident he will get one before next year. I really do like the new SL, but more power is needed IMHO. I am also considering the Kleemann supercharger as an alternative to the SL 55.
