Question Standstill burnout? ESP/ASR etc fully disengaged?

Has anyone here ever managed to do a power burnout at standstill in an SL500 (R230)? Did you manage to fully disengage all the electronic traction system?

Tried it last night for a photo shoot but only got minimal wheel spin before the brakes stopped the whole thing. We put water and liquid soap on the tire treads and the spot where the tires would sit. ESP button was pressed so the light was permanently on in the dash display, ABC sport was activated, and left foot on brake right foot on accelerator. Even tried setting gear 1. After a few attempts I found a position to just balance the brakes so that the car would not move forward and the wheels would spin but they only spun slowly and the rpm couldn't pass 1,500.

The photographer was hoping for somefast wheel spin with the car stationary for his grand finale picture. Using soap and water, there would have been very little tire wear. Darkness and special backlighting would have made a little smoke seem like tons. (interesting the things you can learn about photography at a photo shoot!)

ESP can be fully disengaged, but ASR is still there to cut wheel spin. I don't think there is a real way to "fully" kill ASR.

Top up or down? I find it easier top up rolling in water and then going all out with it without the break. However I've only done that a few times and didn't really get a good up in smoke look as I can get in the Lex doing the same thing. Traction control really likes to kick in

for best spinning results, use wd-40.
