Battery draining issue
I have a 2007 sl550 where my batteries drain after a while if I don't drive it.
I know the short answer is to drive it more
but I live where there is snow
I have sat in the car waiting for somebody, key out of the ignition and I've heard the CD player try to load (no cds in player or changer) and it was proabably every few minutes.
I am kind of assuming that is the culprit
What do you guys think? Any advise?

The front battery only starts the car, it should stay up fine for a very long time even if not driven. I'd first check both batteries with a good voltmeter for 14v on both at idle. I am assuming you do not have an error message in your dash display that the alternator may not be charging. I'd then load test the front battery to see if it is going bad. (Auto Zone) My rear battery is tough to keep up in winter but with some driving is ok. Many forum members trickle charge the rear one in winter. It is possible both batteries are starting to fail. The CD changer may be faulty causing your rear battery to drain down. You might pull its fuse and see if the condition improves. I'm not sure which fuse it is but I'm sure some other forum member will respond to your issue. Keep us posted!

Use a trickle charge like a Battery Tender, CTech or equivalent. I have snow too, and without the charger, the battery is weak in one week. Normal for this car, as it has a bunch of electrical systems that constantly draw power to keep them active.

Ryan: For what it's worth ... if anything at all ... try inserting a CD in the player just to ensure that there's not another CD stuck in the player, and to see if loading a CD resolves the recycling sounds you're hearing. See if that changes anything. Good luck, Mate.

if not changed batteries from 2007, is time to change them. and get a tricle charger,, this cars drain batteri in back, so not mutch to do with it. for vinter, charge up both batteri, and disconnect trunk batteri in right order, then front batteri,, is just 5 min jib to connect up again..
