OEM BIG BRAKE CALIPERS
WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE A SET OF (AMG) CALIPERS AND INSTALL THEM ON MY 2003 R230, DO I HAVE TO DO A LOT OF MODIFICATION TO INSTALL, AND IF SO WHAT DO I NEED.

The AMG calipers are attached to the steering knuckle with M14x1.5 bolts. If your current calipers use M12x1.5 bolts you will most likely have to change the steering knuckles.
There is a chance that the boot on the radius arm joint that attaches to the steering knuckle will be damaged when the original steering knuckle is removed. If this happens you will have to change the entire radius arm since the ball joint that attaches to the steering knuckle is not a separate part.
If you are getting overheated brake fluid messages with the 330mm front rotor and caliper set up, upgrading to the the 360mm AMG rotors and calipers should take care of that issue.

The big brake upgrade has been outlined in detail several times on the forum, as I recall the knuckles are identical save for the caliper bolt hole size so several elected to simply drill to correct size rather than deal with swapping them
