Please Help - Confusion P30 PERFORMANCE PACK
Hello everyone,
Celebrating the one month anniversary of my 2006 SL55 w/ P30 pacakage. I have done some upgrades and looking to get new brake pads for the front rotors. I'm very meticulous about keeping my car show car clean and brake dust is my #1 enemy. My new wheels are covered in brake dust after just a few miles. The rotors are about a year old.
I have a few brands that I have had success with in reducing brake dust on my other cars. (Akebono EBC Red etc) My problem is finding the correct part! I was under the assumption my car has identical brakes as the SL65. However, after doing some research and shopping online, I have found the SL65 also had a performance package p 951? All stores I have visited sell pads for my SL55 w/out the P30 brakes! They don't suggest alternatives or compatibility with the SL65 pads. I'm so confused now. All my search in the forum has got me even more confused. Thanks!
Here is verbiage on the Pelican Parts site:
Brake Pad Set (Front)
Part #: 004-420-45-20-M256
[ More Info ]
SL55 AMG (2004-06) Note: For cars with AMG Performance Package (Code 030)., SL55 AMG Kompressor (2003) Note: For cars with AMG Performance Package (Code 030).
SL65 AMG (2005-06) Note: Not for cars with Sport Package (Code 951)., SL65 AMG (2005-06) Note: thru chassis # F 122820
SL65 AMG (2005 thru March 1930),

I just did the brakes on my 07 sl550 and mine has the 951 package and on the pelican site it is very confusing. So I measured the rotors then called Pelican and they were very helpful got me the right rotors and pads. I went with the Akebono and NO more dust. I would just call them
