C Pillar trim removal

Here you go.
You need to whack the top of the plastic trim pretty solid to release it from the C pillar. Unnerving to take a hammer to your car, but it must be done.
Note the little dimple is on the interior edge of the trim, and it's best to use a small plastic wedge to lift it from the hole.
I recommend using a silicone spray lubricant on the parts for reassembly. Helps to slide the part back in place.
Hardest part is getting all of the 20 tabs to engage at once. Don't slide it 'home' until you are sure all of the tabs are in place.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Actually, I did not whack mine when i removed them. Instead, I found where the "catch" (item #2) is located by referencing the new part. I placed a plastic wedge under the trim to lift the catch, then used another plastic block on the top edge to press steadily until it moved and released.

yeah because that trim alone isn't even sold separately because that is the only reason I am doing this
I wish they did but I had to buy the whole pillar
