SL/R230: Rear suspension question.
#1
Rear suspension question.
I have a 2004 SL55 with 28,000 miles.
The rear suspension is extremely bouncy when I hit bumps.
It doesn't matter if I have the sport button on or not.
The car sits at a normal height and it rises and lowers with the suspension button.
Could it be that the accumulator is bad?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Could be accumulators. These will not show up on any scan, so you need to replace every 10 years, or when you know they have failed (you are due).
Sounds like the car is not relieving pressure correctly for suspension travel. Does it feel like it is rigid? A scan with SDS would tell if something is not working in the electronics, but it would likely throw a warning. The only time I had rigid it was in 'lock down' due to low pressure in the ABC.
