Child recognition Sensor replacement

I'm a former R129'r that just got my first R230. I've had many MB's and taken all of them apart. Got the SRS light, ran the codes, and need to replace the Child Recognition mat. After reading all the threads, since this mat is directly under the Leather, can't the Cushion be removed while the seat is in the car instead of removing the entire seat? AR91.10-P-3310R seems very straight forward.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Yes, that looks pretty straight forward to me, too. I once replaced a seat cushion on a W203 and it require removing the entire seat from the car to get to the underside bolts. Removing that seat was very easy - four bolts holding the tracks to the floor, plus one for the seatbelt anchor, and the electrical connectors.

As an alternative to replacing the defective sensor you can clear the code by simply deactivating the sensor using Star Diagnosis. If you do this an M-B BabySmart seat will no longer automatically deactivate the passenger airbag, of course.

May be of little use but I re-stuffed the driver's seat cushion in my Lexus LS460 for comfort issues and the entire seat had to be removed. R&R probably 10 times in all. Clearly different cars/set-ups but there are most likely bolts/screws underneath that need to be accessed.
