Going to dyno test the car soon, SL600. Any tips, I know it needs to be in dyno mode, but tach signal etc....anything I need to know?

NO LONGER ACTIVE
That's about it - put it in dyno mode so the ESP system is disabled and won't go nuts with just the rear tires spinning. The shop will know how to properly secure the car and run the dyno system.

Tach will need to be an optical pickup off the crank but I've read you can get a signal off the back of the engine. Make sure you know and have practiced putting the car in dyno mode. The dump operator will most likely not know how put your car in dyno mode.

I saw one it looked like they were picking Tach up off the coil pack wiring, not sure....

On a V12? It's completely different than the V8's.

So it was a disaster.....no tach signal could be found, kind of saw that coming. Then even in Dyno mode the car would downshift, so we couldn't get a reading it picked up a 479hp number but I am guessing that prior to the downshift.

We tried to roll into the throttle, but the car didn't like it, either the trans was slipping or something.....it hit the rev limit within 2 seconds of full throttle, dyno couldn't even pick up a #
