SL/R230: SLR node for R230

The carbon fiber materials incorporated, and the paint job make the car look like it has not seams. It looks like it was carved out from a single piece of carbon fiber. The engine bay is a work of art. One of the salesmen told me that the nose will be incorporated into the 2006/2007 model year of the current R230.
For what it’s worth I was tempted into dipping into my trust account for a deposit, unfortunately the car is being auction in EBay: starting bid $ 500,000; where did I put my lotto tickets!
I notice that is says "due in 2005", but does not indicate whether it would be as a model year 2005 or 2006. I would guess 2006 model. What do you guys think?
Also on page 67 they say that the 4 valve head introduced on the SLK will also find its way onto the V8 and V12 engines, but doesn't say when. Could this come in 2006 as well?

Two thing would happen if the know year for the facelift is advertised. First, customers, not happy the SLR front fascia design change will rush to place an order before the change occurs; unlikely.
The second reason is that sales will plummet significantly if the face lift year is known, not only because the design changes will be anticipated by many customers, and would make the current model look aged in comparison.
This type of drastic facelift, on the SL model, marks a milestone for Mercedes; it will be the first time they make such drastic design changes within the production model. But based of the very crowded hi-end automobiles, each one trying to outperform and out-design each other, I believe they have no recourse that roll with the punches.
And with the facelift I also anticipate would additional techno upgrades carried over from the SLR model; especially on their AMG SL models.
I for one, am waiting for news to come out on this change before deciding on ordering the new R320 model; they may give you SLR performance and techno upgrades for a fraction of the cost.
