Clever insurance. Impressive.
It's the BCMs that burn up - or more accurately the wiring around it. You have the the temp probe on the BCM in the trunk - right?
And, what is that temp control module? Thanks.

How long have you had this setup installed? Any issues?
I think I would prefer to have the battery disconnect somehow if the temp control is triggered as there is a good chance that I might not be near the car if an alarm does go off. Thanks for posting!

Tom, in the summer with 100 F outside, the trunk temperature is around 120 F Max. The BCM doesn't get hot unless malfunctioning. Normally Max 120 F.! The probe is on top of the BCM, and under a 1" layer of Rockwool insulation. The insulation is a double insurance to keep the heat from reaching flamable materials!

Very little in the BCM to catch fire, what ignites is the wiring loom insulation and wrap. I would be surprised that the trunk would only get 20 degrees above ambient temperature. I would guess 140 or more
