2004 SL500 ABC system
Purchased an SL last year and have had some great adventures, first with the roof, replaced hydro line still all wacked out. (but closed) jacked up left side while changing oil, now ABC system is not working, changed fluid &filter looking for troubleshoot methods. Sometimes works then go's Red & visit workshop. Any info would be appreciated.

Your really need to read the diagnostic codes that triggered the fault indication. You can do that with a $110 iCarsoft I980 or a $325 Star Diagnosis system. Unless you are on a budget the more expensive Star Diagnosis is recommended.

Just for the record, the ICarsoft MBII allows you to both disable the SBC system and properly rset it when doing brake pad changes whereas the i980 does not. Additionally, the MBII can return actual values for each of the microswitches in the Vario roof, allowing you to pinpoint a failed microswitch (or as is usually more often the case) a frayed wire leading to an inoperative microswitch. Since brake pads are an item than many would prefer doing on their own - the ability to properly reset the SBC system makes the MBII a superior choice over the i980 - definitely worth the additional $30 pricetag. For those who simply unplug the SBC to do brakes, they have no way of properly resetting the SBC and can lose functions like the calipers properly gripping the rotors during wet conditions and the like.

This unit has been purchased by a number of people and has been satisfactory: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2014...783909054.html. It's a bit pricey, however.
I have a complete SDS system to sell including laptop for $325 shipped. The hardware is all new, though the quality of the "multiplexer" construction is not to the standard of the unit above. Send me a PM if you are interested.

I sent you PM, but decided to repeat here. I am interested in your SDS if it is still available. Thanks.
