ICarsoft MB II

"Red Battery notice"
I got this notice after repeated ”consumer offline" messages. Even after I changed the rear Battery the red notice would pop up instantly when starting the vehicle. After verifying offline voltages and running voltages and also reading almost every forum related to this fault, I ordered the ICarsoft unit.

The unit is fairly intuitive and easy to navigate. I suggest watching a couple of videos on it's sub menu navigation if you have never used a OBDII or similar user HHM interface. I verified the fault code and cleared it within minutes. I am a new SL owner, so we'll see how this tool comes in handy.

So clearing the code in the BCM solved the problem? What was the code?

Here is the view. It came up not under BCM but power management. The unit downloaded 34 do files for diagnostics. It was very obvious how to navigate and clear the fault.

Excellent system for the Benz. Only thing better is going full STAR.

I just ordered the MB II in preparation to begin maintaining our cars. Looking forward to seeing how easy it is to navigate and use.

thanks

Hmm, that error just indicates low battery voltage. Since it is "stored" and not "current", it could just be left over from the bad battery. I sometimes get a red battery warning. In my case, it's because the voltage is slow to come up after starting the car and I have a bunch of consumer running (lights, AC fan, radio, etc.). My old radar detector (Escort 9500i) would actually power down because of this. I keep a cigarette lighter voltmeter in the car just to check, and voltage comes up to a solid 14v after it idles for a minute or two.

In my case, I think it might be the aftermarket alternator I have installed. The original died and I was in a pinch so I bought a cheap one at Advance Auto with a lifetime warranty. I kept my old one and I think I'm going to just replace the regulator on it and put it back in.

i had same issue with mines after replacing both batteries due to car sitting extended periods of time. Didn't want to go to Stealership. I to ordered the Carsoft MBii. I reset in the same manner. Worked

check engine light

ok so i bought the icarsoft mb11 when i purchased my 2009 clk350, yesterday check engine light came on so i hooked her up inputed correct car, engine etc, and ran the automatic scan at which point 27 systems come up for review. so what i had to do was go to each system and hit check codes, if there were none, on to the next one etc etc etc. i eventually found the issue was stuck open thermostat and i have one on order. my question is isn't there an easier way?? you would think the unit would only show the system thats throwing codes not every system on the car. Am i doing it wrong or is this the way the unit is designed?

You can't expect a 80$ device to be professional
it's just a little tool to startup with before you move to the real thing as it has lots of limits

If one day you want to move to something real so you avoid dealers 100%

well, the thing is that with a little aftermarket tool like that you will have do with the line it shows
some show a code only, then you'll have to go online in google and forums to search what that particular code means for that brand
some show a line describing shortly what the code is

the advantage with a real good system that is absolutely not available for 200$ but for a range from 550 (if you by a crappy Chinese software version) to 750$ (if you buy a real good system)

If you need a real good system; just look up my website and my reviews
everything is include in terms of remote diagnostics, custom coding and many more things unlimited in time
7/7

don't get lured into buying a C3, you will regret it after a while as many thing can not be done with that old device
saving 150-190 will probably leave you a bitter taste once you found out what a good system can do

3 users on 4 who got a C3 with Chinese junk software end up selling it and getting the Real thing

One of the main reasons is here

read what users say here:
