vario roof problem

Hello we have a 2004 sl600 biturbo.
We have searched for a long time but cant get any further.
star diagnose says no fault codes present.
but wen we open or close the roof;
-the right side of the trunklid does not close.
-the trunk lid opens normaly wen openig or closing but it does not come back, only if you help it a little by hand.
-the rollbar wont come up under any condition only with help by hand wen pushing the button for the rollbar to retract back to place its works perfect.

we changed the pump (could be a pressure problem)
we channged the cillinder from the trunk lid
but nothing helped til now.

any ideas?

kind regards

Refer to this:

Which cylinder did you replace - #5 or #7? I think #5 is what locks the lid down.

Yeah, #8 just lifts the trunk lid. #5 is what locks in place once it's lowered.

Did you diagnose those components as faulty before replacing them? With an inexpensive pressure gauge the pump pressure can be evaluated, and Star Diagnosis has test routines for checking the cylinders using that gauge. Assuming you tested nothing and have no gauge, I would check the cylinders for the locks and tubular frame as follows.

Have the roof closed. Open the trunk lid. Manually close the latch on the trunk lid so that the roof controller does not recognize the trunk lid is open. Access the hydraulic lines going to the roof pump and remove lines 30, 32, 33, and 34. Have someone activate the roof closed switch while you watch for fluid coming out of the disconnected lines and valve block. There should be very little or no fluid seen at all. Significant fluid from line 30 indicates a faulty front lock cylinder, 32 a faulty tubular frame cylinder, 33 a faulty left tubular frame lock, and 34 a right tubular frame lock. Significant fluid from any of the exposed ports on the valve block suggest it is faulty.
