I live in Central Mass. and work out in Ludlow, I can help you if you like as I have one myself. The only thing is right now busy getting mine going as it has something going on with Transmission, got stranded thursday. But once fixed we can coordinate a time and place if you like. I have a 03 as well.

So you have the serial port version of the muliplexer? Are you connecting it to USB-to-RS232 adapter? I tried one and never got it to work, but I use an old Dell D630 with a built-in serial port. I was just experimenting with the USB adapter and never got it to work.

You have to setup up Peer to Peer for wireless. The Ethernet Cable is just as good just another wire.
One question i had asked you in PM, I know answer too now that i seen this thread again, you have C4.
Make sure you do not go on Internet with MUX connected and Xentry, you will get blacklisted with an auto update.
You will see Road24h for peer to peer wireless
I have a Dell 630 as Rodney has as well

Found Instructions for you on my Server. Hopefully saves me a trip to CT or you to Mass. lol
Install fresh charged batteries in your MUX.
Connect your laptop to the MUX using the green RJ45/CAT5 cable.
Set your laptop LAN adapter card IP address to 172.29.127.125/255.255.0.0.
Use SDConnect Tool Kit to select your MUX, click on "Configuration" then check the box for "WAN". Name=Road24h and enter IP address data(192.168.2.10/255.255.255.0), select WEP/HEX, enter Security Key= "a" 26 times. Click OK. (key is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa)
Disconnect the green cable from the MUX and the laptop.
Change the IP address of your laptop WAN adapter from 172.29.127.125/255.255.0.0 to match the MUX network address, ie 192.168.2.11/255.255.255.0.
Oh than remove Batteries no need for themfrom now on till we get you going Wireless with road24h

Yep, I use a regular laptop. It has to also be a special usb to rs232 that had a certain firmware. The cheap ones are slow and disconnect mid star.

What version/brand of RS232 adapter? I'd love to stop using the Dell and switch to my Lenovo Yoga convertible as SDS is much easier to navigate with a touch screen. And I really don't want to switch to the C4 wifi multiplexer.

Correct...The logo comes up and that's it...DAS no luck either...MUX or VM ware???, no clue what you mean...no provisions for Ethernet cable on multiplexer...

The kit you bought came with a hard drive. Did you just install that drive in your Dell D630 and then try to boot from it? Usually if the hard drive comes in an external USB case, then it's meant to be used under VMWare. If it's a "raw" hard drive, you put it in the PC and boot it. The problem is, when you boot on the drive, it needs to have all the drivers and such for your specific hardware.

i just checked it and there are no labels. I bought it about 5-6 years ago. But it’s not the basic one they sell in Chinese shops. I remember someone recommending it online.

Can you do anythign in XP or does it lock-up? I.e. does the Start menu work? If not, then I suspect it's a driver problem. While Windows 7 and later is pretty good about having drivers and automaticall handling hardware changes (even swapping the entire computer), XP did not work so well like that.
If it's just "DAS" that won't work, then what else does work? WIS? EPC? SDMedia? Star Utilities?
