Fixed soft close, now close trunk warning is on

Hi,
I followed a thread about how to fix the soft close and it worked. But now I can't open the top due to the message "close trunk". I have searched the threads but no answers.
Thanks
Tom

Is the trunk lid actually closing fully? When it reaches the strike, you should hear one click, then you should visually see it pull down, then hear a second click as it is fully closed. After that, you may hear a brief hiss and the PSE pump run for a second or two.

Yes it does exactly what you said the lid pulls down and there are two clicks one the beginning one at the end and then some sort of hissing winding sound and yet they close the trunk signal still shows when I try and bring the top down

How about all the connectors? I would take apart the trunk and double check all the connectors. Cuz it looks more like a mechanical issue. Usually you don't touch any sensors when fix the trunk soft close

Good thing that you said that, cuz it explains that it did not go bad because of the soft close assist. I'd say for you to look into the sensors that are responsible for the closed trunk signal. They might have been damaged while your soft close wasn't working, thus you had to put some more pressure to close the trunk. Should be 1 or 2 sensors. If those are good - then idk)) you might have a code stored as well , if you could scan it with the SDS.

The sensor to register that the trunk lid is closed is in the latch itself. There are two wiring harness connectors for the latch. I believe the one that plugs in to the latch near the bottom (i.e. not the one on the left side) is for the sensor.
