Instrument Cluster not working

I removed my 2005 R230 (SL500) instrument cluster to clean the plastic bezel. Reinstalled cluster and now the cluster gauges does not work. Randomly received the workshop message. Can I repair this problem without taking the Vehicle to a repair shop?
Thanks

Have not had that happen, unless you replaced the cluster with one not married to the car.

You might start by disconnecting the rear battery for 5 minutes, then reconnecting. This is essentially a 're-boot' for the car.
You will always need to reset your windows, and turn the wheel from lock to lock to reset the ESP error when you disconnect the battery.

The instrument cluster is the same one that I removed. I’ll try disconnecting the battery and see what happens.

Removing the rear battery cable and waiting for 5 minutes did not solve the problem.
Thank you for the suggestion. If anyone has another idea I will greatly appreciate it.

cluster headache

As much as it is a pain I'd try pulling the cluster one more time and looking to see if all the connectors look real good. This sounds like a poor connection somewhere. Could be a broken wire or loose wire at a connector that could be tough to figure out. Good luck and keep us posted. I hate doing a job twice but I think that is about all you can do at this point. I just don't think it is getting the signal to respond.

I took your advice and removed the instrument cluster. I sprayed the contact with electrical contact cleaner and reconnected. Started the car and everything came back to life!
Thank You for your advice.
