Help needed

i just looked at a 2004 sl and I drove it and it drove fine a few issues, the owner passed away and his wife is asking 11000.00 for the car it has 33000 miles with new Michelin tires,
it has no service records my issues are when I drove it the following lights were on,I plan on having a pick done before I buy it,also front seat bottom was ripped I think malfunction with seat heater from what I researched so it will definetly need a need seat cover
1 the SRS light was on and said restraint system drive to workshop
2 reactive tire pressure monitor maybe tires low
3 malfunction memory, 2 malfunctions
4 Service A exceeded by 90 days
does this seem like a fair deal,I know the issues with the abc suspension and hopefully with piping they can check this.thoughts appreciated.
Thanks jimbo

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Hi Jimbo. Check kbb.com and cargurus.com for prices. $11K sounds a bit high to me. Even with low mileage, there will still be plenty of issues that are age related. Also, not being driven very much over the last 14-15 years can actually be worse than a higher mileage car. One good bit of news is that the complex SBC (Sensatronic Brake System) is now warranted for 25 years, unlimited mileage, so that is one worry eliminated. ABC is likely going to need some maintenance as well. The rubber components (seals, dampeners, etc.) deteriorate more with time than use. You really need to invest in SDS to properly work on this car.

SL 500 Storage issues

I purchased a 2004 SL500 a year ago, owner had passed 4 years earlier, basically stored. First time I opened convertible top. A hydraulic line in system blew a seal.fluid everywhere. the fluid that operates the convertible & ABC system needs serviced new fluid & filters every 40K miles or 5 years. By qualified mercedes mechanic with star system. Fluid cost around $20. Liter,
ABC system, can cost up $20.000, for repairs. Bad design in 2003-2006,
find someone who has a star diagnostic system to test all systems.
2004 SL500, are selling wholesale at 7-10000, due to high maintenance cost.
Good luck, hope you have a very high budget for maintenance&operation. Beautiful cars, great handling.

Larry, i see you are in Albertville. If you need any help, I'm not too far away - south of Birmingham (Hoover/Pelham area).
