![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I used an iCarsoft MBII scanner to look for error codes as the yellow check engine light came on recently in the right hand side pod dash display.
On the scanner I see in the ESP section, codes of 6210 and 6230 have come up.
I cleared the codes but the light is still on the dash.
Any idea what these codes mean?
I had done a full throttle launch in drive and let it shift through the gears but when it got to 3rd gear the car hesitated and the exhaust got louder and it went into a limp mode and the yellow check engine light came on.
I pulled over and turned off the engine. Waited a couple of minutes and restarted the engine. The light was still on in the dash but the car drove normal and was not in limp mode.
If I just drive it normal it is smooth and drives great. If I get on it and go WOT it pulls hard up through about 3rd gear and does the hesitation thing, louder exhaust and goes into limp mode until I turn the engine off and back on again and then drives normal again.

(6210) ABS Anti-Lock Braking System Control & (6230) ESP Electronic Stability Program Control are both related to the SBC braking system and most often present under 2 scenarios:
1. The SBC counter has reached the end of it's service life
2. The SBC ground wire fix hasn't been performed.
The good news is that earlier this year, Mercedes extended the SBC warranty to 25 years unlimited miles, so it should be a rather painless visit to the dealer. The MII can't clear those codes. Only a Mercedes SDC tool will clear those codes.

Thanks.
Dang I would hate to have to go to the dealer here as there is only one and they can charge as much as they want to clear codes!

The SBC warranty is for the vehicle. Ownership doesn't matter. You could be the 10th owner and the warranty would still apply. And it would be worth your while to consider purchasing a Star Diagnostic as it generally will pay for itself the first time you're able to avoid a dealer visit. Then you can do all the diagnostics, and code clearing, yourself. Laptop, multiplexer, and software can all be had for about $500. Plenty are available on Ebay and through Chinese vendors. Pretty much a must when you own a Mercedes imo. The software is pretty intuitive, and there is plenty of help available here should you ever get stuck.
