07 SL550: Brake/ABS/ESP codes/issues
hello everyone,
the other day after I washed my 07 SL550 I drove it to the front of the house and brake/abs/esp lights came on and I barely had any breaks. Had to put the car in natural to make it stop. Never happened before. I just washed the outside of the car and the wheels, and not the engine.
about an hour later I check the car again and everything was find. no lights and brakes were working. HOWEVER, this now makes me nervous as what if it happens while I'm driving.
I took the car to my mechanic and he pulled the codes with his fancy scanner but he really doesn't work on these cars so that's why I'm posting here.
Below two pictures are from his scanner.
car has 96k miles, running great, no current issues.
thanks for your assistance.

brake problem
This sounds like a real booger of a problem to solve. It could be just a bare wire somewhere on a sensor and water shorts it out. My best guess is to water down one wheel at a time as when you washed the car and test drive it. Working one wheel at a time and testing it may at least pinpoint an area to further inspect. Let's see if another member chimes in who had this same problem. Good Luck!

That looks like symptoms of SBC failure. Did you erase the codes? If not, I'd take it to the dealer and have them take a look at it. The SBC system, is now warranted for 25 years, unlimited miles, all current owners.

Yes we cleared the codes which was all in ‘stored’ mode and not active since the issue went away an hour later. It’s just in back of my mind as why it happened & what if it happens if I’m on the hwy. at 10 mph I had to put the car in mutual to make it stop.
