Basic brake DIY without a STAR

After reading lots of threads and a few Mercedes documents, I got the procedure streamlined into a step by step process I made into a PDF. This is ONLY for the SBC disable and re-enable so you can relieve system pressure and compress the caliper pistons during brake work without damaging the SBC system. Then turn it back on so it works properly. It's not really necessary to lift the right front wheel if you're not servicing it. Both back wheels must be lifted so the left rear can spin for the re-enable process.

That seems like a lot of work, you can just unplug the SBC harness and that takes like 2 seconds and do the brake job. That's what i did with mine, then re attach and pump the brakes a few times before starting the vehicle and you won't get the SBC error message.

If that worked, great. They say unplugging the harness doesn't relieve the line pressure and compressing the calipers MAY damage the pump. Also, if you already have the brake error message, this procesure clears it.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
The other issue with just unplugging the SBC control module is that it does not re-calibrate the system. That is necessary for proper function of the brake drying feature and the predictive priming (i.e. where the brake pads are extended but not in contact with the rotors when your foot is remove from the accelerator).
