Found speaker under glove box not hooked up.

While changing the cabin filters I found a tweeter speaker in the part under the dash I had to take off. It was not hooked up to anything. My supposition is the speaker would be used for some other radio than the one installed in the car. Any ideas?

I believe that it is used for Teleaid.

Yes. That's exactly what it is, and I would suggest hooking it back up so you can see if the Teleaid unit is malfunctioning. A malfunctioning Teleaid unit can wreak havoc on the consumer battery.

The wires are green. I have not found a place to hook them to.

Please take a moment to visit the User Control Panel and update your profile to include your car's model year, and your location (at least country). This information will then appear below your name and avatar on the left side panel next to each post you make. This will greatly help others to give you better information. If you are using the mobile version of the site, you will need to switch to the "full" version to get to the User Control Panel.

You have a MY2004? Don't worry about it. The Teleaid system in your car is worthless as it was designed to use the now defunct analog cellular network. The speaker being unplugged will cause no issues. In fact, a previous owner may have unplugged it because if Teleaid is activated be accidentally pressing one of the buttons, it will sound from there with dialing and "dial error" sounds.

The TeleAid button is what you would press if you wanted to talk to an angry German woman.
