Ultra low km SL55
I am looking at a 2005 SL55 with very low mileage, about 20,000 kms. The asking price is quite steep.
For the same money I can get a 2009 SL63 or even a 2011 SL550, both higher kms of course.
What is a reasonable premium for the low kms SL55.
Any valuation tool that I use still puts the value at half of what the asking price is.
The car is not a private sale, but used car dealer, he has full service history, as little as it can be with 20K.
Any insights on price, (remember canadian car)

I looked fo theee years at all three of the models you listed in my consideration. I opted for the 2011 SL550 with under 22K miles at $36K. I combed the forums and was enriched by the knowledge of the owners here. I'm pleased with my decision.

My friend got a 2004 SL55, paid $22.5K with 21K miles: https://mbworld.org/forums/sl-class-...ml#post7543152
I don't think the crazy low miles are worth that much, but the crazy high miles are almost free!

I really don't believe that an older car with very low miles is worth a hug premium. This is a 14 year old car. Lot of plastic and rubber parts on it will need just as much maintenance as the same car with 100K miles. Yes, it might be less worn, but many things deteriorate with time. On top of that, I like buying a used car with more miles on it. That way, there is a greater chance that the original owner has had the "niggles" worked out while under warranty.

I’m in the market and I feel like the sweet spot with these cars is a ~2005 with around 60k on the clock.
But it there is something special about an ultra low mileage car — maybe not mechanically but at least cosmetically something used 30k miles over 15 years is going to feel brand new isn’t it?

60k mark is just shy of the point the car will need a bunch of repairs. I would think an 80k to 100k mile car with everything replaced would be more reliable in the long run. The 60k mile will still need a new pump, hoses, and accumulators soon but the higher mileage car may have already had those replaced. At least, that's my experience.
