Xenon Headlight
Okay i have a weird one, I have a 2003 sl500 and the drivers side xenon headlight will work(turn on) while the car is off, but the minute i fire it up it starts blinking and then goes out. I have replaced the bulbs, ballast and now igniter still have the same problem? Any ideas?? I think i know what your all going to say, and i dread the fact of having to purchase the whole headlight assembly. Especially seeing as I am already looking at replacing the passenger side headlight assembly due to the fact that the turn signal doesn't work, thought it was just the bulb at first but when i replaced it and it still didn't work i swapped it with my drivers side bulb and holder or connecter what ever you call and it still didn't work, so i'm assuming its has more to do with the assembly, Unless im wrong???? HHHHHmmmmm ... anybody..... Bueller... Lol.. sorry couldn't resist. ; )

Hi.
Do you have the same problem on both lights? If you have already replaced bulbs and ballast and igniters I don't think changing the whole assembly may help. Judging by the symptoms it looks like your bulbs work fine from the battery and stop working whe you switch to alternator. I think you should start checking this system, for example check the voltage both from the batterty and from alternator.

Before going to advanced works try checking fuses. It also may be the case. Take the one you need out and check it for burns etc. Or replace with a new one.
