Anybody know what they run because i saw one today at the track and it ran 12.9 @111-112 and he had only 700 miles on the clock and he never drag racded before so i expect that it would be alot faster with a good driver and broke in. Was this anyone from this forum it was at englishtown NJ

Quarter mile times on the 600s have been the subject of long discussions in this forum. Here are a couple of threads:

I believe the evidence shows that cars with modified ECUs can run in the 11s, while stock vehicles run in the 12s.

Thats not what i am looking for i am looking for real world numbers at the drag strip magaine numbers are great but what are other people doing. Besides there are very few sl600 go to the track but they should run low 12s probably note this car that i saw only had 700 Miles soo it needs some break in time

2004 MB SL600 & 2000 MB S500
Maybe the information on this website is what you are looking for. It shows the actual digital display of the elapsed time (12.48 sec) and trap speed (117.42 MPH) at a drag strip for a 2004 SL600:

I have never run my 2004 SL600 at a drag strip but it feels much faster than the 2002 SLK32 AMG I traded in. That car was tested by C&D and posted a 13.0 sec and 110 MPH.

On a hot and humid day in Florida I did a 0-60 in 4.3 and a quarter mile in 12.55/113mph as measured on my Passport Timer. This is a 04 SL600 with about 1100 miles on it. I think I could do a little better by slightly loading up the torque converter and then launching. ESP was "ON".
