SL/R230: has anyone supercharged their SL63?

Adding forced induction to a normally-aspirated engine which remains stock otherwise is a bad idea, in my opinion, since it could compromise the durability and longevity of the engine.

Go for it but make sure you change the headbolts since they are a known weak link. There is also a company, World Motorsport, out if Ca that adds a twin turbo to the SLS. That's the route I would go. Weistec would be more affordable and give the car the added power missing from the factory.

Getting power to the ground isnt really a issue, theres drag slicks, but the issue is the reliability, the 7 auto speedshift trans wasn't made for big power, thats why it wasnt used for the v12 models, then on top of that the 6.3 has plenty of top end (head) problems, bolts/cams/lifters and other issues.
If you wanted a supercharged v8 shoulda got a sl55, but im sure you already debated the options and you have your reasons for the sl63.
But overall you make some good power, 200 more hp, but is it worth it for you and the hassle.
also the boys at the c63 forum probably has alot more info on getting more power out the 6.3l, and what issues you might encounter.
the chassis/abc shouldn't have a issue with the power since the v12's also sit in it.
