SL/R230: acceleration stutters, code P0102, MAF

acceleration stutters, code P0102, MAF
I did do searches, but didn't really see anything in the R230 sub-forum (plenty in other forum), just wanna post this for future searches.
last week, my car starts hesitating when accelerating from stop, once engine died when coming to a stop. Engine light came on, code was P0102.
ordered a new Bosch 0280217810 Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) off Amazon for $130. installed it, and been working fine so far !!
install took may be 5 minutes, no tools needed. pop of plastic air filter assembly on top of the engine. MAF is towards center back of the engine. disconnect 1 electrical connector by squeezing top and bottom clip. remove the round clip that circles the MAF. then MAF comes straight off. pretty simple job.

I didn’t. MAF cleaner was like $10. New MAF was $130 for Bosch or $60 for off brand. I didn’t want to do it again (wasn’t sure how much labor required), just bought new.
Now i now how easy to swap it, i would use cleaner next time.
Btw. I could swear the car drive much better than before (stuttering). I started a thread a month back about having difficulties modulating throttle. Issue is gone.
